Imposing Group Housing Polokwane
Bendor Gardens is a trendy 14x unit group housing scheme, situated on a gently sloped property in Polokwane.
Particular attention was given to the internal circulation of the 193m² units, as well as the provision of north orientations for the living and bedroom areas.
The juxtaposition of primary building forms, with cut-outs and overhangs, were used to create a human scaled environment with an avant-garde impression.
The building forms were further contrasted by the use of different materials, textures and colour.
Floor to ceiling windows were employed as transition between the external surfaces.
The units were purposefully staggered to enhance the orchestrated nature of the strong architectural elements.
Roof gardens, balconies and sky-lights provide interaction with the natural surround.
The ground floor living areas spills out onto covered patios facing the private garden areas.
