Contemporary Beach House

At the heart of this Contemporary Beach House in Glentana, Mossel Bay, is a covered barbecue stoep, adjacent to a landscaped garden courtyard.
This entertainment area is strategically sheltered from the southeast winds and is further protected by a timber sliding screen for added privacy and comfort.
The stepped design of the structure to the north allows sunlight to reach the stoep, garden, and even the pajama lounge on the first floor.
Additionally, the courtyard functions as a light well, channeling natural light into the surrounding rooms and living areas, enhancing the home's sense of openness and warmth.

This Modern Beach House has magnificent Indian Ocean views. The property is quite small, and the primary design challenge was to fit all the required accommodation onto the site.
The dwelling is positioned on a plinth to maximize height and capture the expansive views, while the flat roof design ensures that the views of neighboring properties are respected.
The ground floor accommodates all the living and entertaining areas, while the first floor is dedicated to four en-suite bedrooms and a pajama lounge.
All areas with sea views are complemented by covered balconies, while timber pergola structures enhance natural light and create a sense of openness for the upper bedrooms.
The ground floor living areas offer direct access to the beach, and the raised plinth is softened by a garden feature with a stone wall behind.
The main bedroom is shielded from neighboring windows through the use of vertical timber balusters, ensuring privacy without compromising on style.
